What is a Walking Bus?
The Walking Bus is a group of primary school children who walk to school,
led by a parent, with another parent taking up the rear.
All Walking Bus passengers wear fluorescent reflective jackets and children are supervised until they
reach school. The Bus travels along
a pre arranged route collecting
children at bus stops along the way.

Thanks to all parents who have signed up for the Walking Bus project. Ninety children have been registered and five walking bus routes have been developed. Three of the five
routes are already up and walking!

They are the (1) Skerries Rock-Seacrest
(2) C & T – Miller’s Lane and (3)
Skerries Rock – Balbriggan Street.

The enthusiasm of Children, Parents
and School Staff have made this
‘Green Schools Project’ a hugely enjoyable success.
We would like to encourage all those independent school walkers to join
the bus.

If you would like more information
on this project please contact
Angela Murphy: 8494811 or
Liz O Reilly, 8494021 who are both Walking Bus Co-ordinators.
